Practice route around Chadderton Driving Test Centre
One of the practice routes we drive in Chadderton lessons. It leaves the Broadway Business Park end of Broadgate, works through Grimshaw Lane and Greengate, takes the Mainway and Kingsway roundabouts, loops the quieter Boardman Fold and Mossway estate roads, then comes back along Manchester New Road and Oldham Road (A664) into the Middleton Way roundabouts before finishing back on Broadgate. It mixes estate road work, mini roundabouts, bigger multi-lane roundabouts and busy A-road driving in one run. This is an approximate map of roads we actually drive, not an official DVSA test route.

- Set off from Broadgate and follow it away from the business park.
- Continue straight as the road becomes Grimshaw Lane (B6189).
- Turn left onto Greengate (B6393).
- Turn right onto Mainway East.
- At the roundabout, bear slightly left onto Kingsway and follow it on.
- At the next roundabout, take the left-hand exit onto Hardfield Road.
- Follow Hardfield Road, then turn left onto Boardman Fold Road.
- Continue straight as it becomes Moss Lane.
- Turn left onto Duffield Road and bear slightly left to stay on it.
- At the end of the road, turn right onto Mossway.
- Turn left onto Manchester New Road (A664), bear slightly right, then take the sharp right to stay on the A664.
- At the roundabout, bear slightly left onto Oldham Road (A664) and follow it on.
- Continue straight through the next roundabout, staying on Oldham Road.
- Turn right onto Townley Street (B6189).
- Turn left onto Grimshaw Lane (B6189).
- Turn right onto Butterworth Street, then left onto Andrew Street.
- Turn left onto Haslam Street, then right back onto Grimshaw Lane.
- Continue straight onto Broadgate to finish back where you started.
