Practice route around Bolton Driving Test Centre
One of the practice routes we drive around Bolton Driving Test Centre. It starts on Weston Street, works through the Rishton Lane and Lever Street side roads, joins Derby Street and St Helens Road (A579), heads out past Deane Church Lane onto Wigan Road (A676), then takes Beaumont Road (A58) and Chorley New Road (A673) before returning through Gilnow, Park Road and University Way (B6202). It mixes tight terraced streets, busy A-road traffic, hill work and stop-start town driving in one run. This is an approximate map of roads we actually drive, not an official DVSA test route.

- Pull out of the test centre and turn right onto Weston Street.
- Turn left onto Rishton Lane, then right onto Settle Street.
- Turn right onto Rupert Street and follow it on.
- Turn left at the end of the road onto Lever Street, then bear right onto High Street.
- Turn left onto Bridgeman Street, then right onto Swan Lane.
- Turn left at the end of the road onto Derby Street (A579).
- Continue straight as it becomes St Helens Road (A579).
- Turn right onto Deane Church Lane and follow it through.
- Turn left at the end of the road onto Wigan Road (A676).
- Turn right onto Beaumont Road (A58) and follow it on.
- Turn right at the end of the road onto Chorley New Road (A673).
- Turn right onto Tudor Avenue (B6202), continuing straight onto Gilnow Road.
- Turn right at the end of the road onto Park Road (B6202), then straight on through Mayor Street.
- Bear slightly left onto University Way (B6202), then continue straight onto Fletcher Street.
- Turn right at the end of the road, keep left to stay on Fletcher Street, then straight onto Grecian Crescent.
- Turn left onto Weston Street, then left again to finish back at the test centre.
