Practice route around Bredbury Driving Test Centre
One of the practice routes we drive around Bredbury Driving Test Centre. It leaves Lingard Lane, works along Ashton Road and Stockport Road West (A560), heads out through Romiley and Compstall, climbs the Werneth Road and Greave side roads, then returns on Stockport Road East (A560) through Brinnington and the Brindale estate. It mixes busy A-road traffic, hill starts, tight residential streets and a spell of steady town driving in one run. This is an approximate map of roads we actually drive, not an official DVSA test route.

- Pull out of the test centre and turn left onto Lingard Lane.
- Turn right onto Ashton Road (A6017) and follow it on.
- Go straight ahead at the roundabout, then take the left exit to stay on Ashton Road (A560).
- Turn left onto Stockport Road West (A560).
- Turn right onto George Lane (A627) and follow it through Bredbury.
- Turn left onto School Brow (B6104), then left again onto Stockport Road (B6104).
- Continue straight as it becomes Compstall Road (B6104).
- Turn left onto Sandy Lane.
- Continue straight as Sandy Lane becomes Greave, then bear slightly left onto Werneth Road.
- Follow Werneth Road round to the left, keeping left again, then straight onto Smithy Green.
- Turn left onto Hyde Road (A560).
- Continue straight as it becomes Stockport Road East (A560), then Newbridge Lane (B6104).
- Bear slightly right onto Carrington Road, then turn right onto Brinnington Road.
- Turn right onto Brindale Road and follow it round to the right through the estate.
- Continue onto Essex Road, then turn right at the end of the road onto Lingard Lane.
- Turn left to finish back at the test centre.
